Dr. Vicki smells the cherry blossoms in Hong Kong

Hong Kong was Dr. Vicki Belo’s destination the first time she went out of the country after the emotion-shattering break up with boyfriend Hayden Kho. No, she wasn’t with him or did she go there for them to meet. She was there third week of January to smell the cherry blossoms, so to speak.

Actually her primary purpose for going there was business--to videotape “Belo Beauty 101” and to be interviewed by “Startalk” and “Showbiz Central” people Lolit Solis, Jojo Gabinete and Gorgy Rula. Best friend and business partner Rubby Sy of Flawless and their respective publicists, Lea Salterio for Dr. Vicki and Shirley Pizarro for Rubby accompanied her. Dr. Eppy Gochangco, Belo’s resident life coach, also joined them.

Her business done, Dr. Vicki switched to the typical woman who loves to shop at the best stores. Beauty and fashion destinations such Lane Crawford and Seibu Department Store were stopovers. She went to Marathon Sports Shop at Pacific Place to get a pair of the in-demand Australian rubber shoes MBT (Masai barefoot technology) physiological footwear. Dinners where in such chi chi places as Nobu Japanese restaurant, actor Robert de Niro's franchise of the popular dining place.

Although she always took first class, Dr. Vicki was not beyond taking the MTR to cross from Kowloon to Hong Hong side -- and back, using her octopus card. However, it was also not all work and shopping for her. She listened to Filipina singer Amelyn at Salon De Ning Music Lounge at Peninsula Hong Kong where she was billeted.
